Miller, Peters Wed in May

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Amy Miller and Doug Peters were married May 28, 2011 at Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Teri Miller of Shelbyville.  She is a 2002 graduate of Shelbyville High School and a 2004 graduate of Lake Land College with an Associate Degree in Graphic Design.  Amy is currently employed by Shelby County State Bank in Shelbyville.

The groom is the son of Mark and Sharon Peters of Taylorville. He is a 2000 graduate of Taylorville High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Doug is currently employed by the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service as the District Conservationist in Shelby County.

Jamie Lustig of Strasburg, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Becky Bruns of Shelbyville, sister of the bride; Laura Peters of Edwardsville, sister of the groom; Keeley Buhrmester of Shelbyville, friend of the bride; Monica Fathauer of Shelbyville, sister of the bride.

Aaron Allen of Taylorville, friend of the groom, stood as best man. Groomsmen included Casey Donnovan of St. Louis, MO; Reese Harstirn of Chicago; Brian Hetzer of Chicago; James Reese of Crown Point, IN, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Ryan Schaffer of Baltimore, MD; Patrick Burkhart of Chicago; Gary Gantzert of Baltimore, MD; Jed Strom of Chicago, all friends of the groom.

Ringbearers were Bryce and Bodee Fathauer and Karson Bruns, nephews of the bride.  Carter Bruns served as honorary ringbearer.

Heidi and Ericka Miller of Windsor, cousins of the bride, attended the guestbook and served as program attendants.

The ceremony was performed by Pastor Mark Sanders.  Lia Koehler, friend of the couple, provided instrumental music and beautiful solos for the ceremony.

A dinner and dance reception was held at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham.  Brian Barnes of Cowden designed the decorations for the church and reception as well as coordinated the wedding ceremony.

The couple honeymooned on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL and now resides in Mt. Zion.
