National Day of Prayer Service May 5

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The annual National Day of Prayer service will be held at the Chautauqua building in Forest Park on Thursday, May 5, from 7-8 p.m.

The service, sponsored by the Shelbyville Ministerial Association,  is a time of prayer for the community, churches, and nation.

“A Mighty Fortress is Our God” is the theme for this year’s observance. Pastor Greg Breeden of the First Church of the Nazarene will give a short sermon. Music will be led by Eagle’s Wings.

“Anybody is welcome to come join in. We encourage all Christians in the community to participate,” said organizer Rev. Don Jefferies.
