SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Okaw Valley High School December students of the month are Seniors, Megan Durbin and Joel Herron.
Megan is the daughter of Jason and Elizabeth Durbin.
While attending high school Megan has been active in volleyball, softball, cheerleading, NHS, Science Club, Drama, SADD, FFA, Girl's Varsity Club FCCLA and was this year's homecoming queen. In her spare time she enjoys having out with friends and playing sports.
Her future plans include going to SIUC to study to be a nurse practitioner in obstetrics.
Joel is the son of Kevin and Jane Herron.
Joel is in band, drama club, fusion, Spanish club and made history this year by becoming the first Okaw Valley High School Timberwolf mascot. When he is not at school he enjoys practicing the trombone, playing video games and spending time on the computer.
His future plans include attending SIUC and major in music performance. He also intends to join the Air Force and audition for a chance to be a member of one of their many bands.
