Soyland Access To Independent Living (SAIL) will host their annual celebration of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with events in Decatur and Charleston.
Featured Speaker at both events will be Tom Hernon Jr., founder of Back 2 Sports. Hernon, who acquired a paralyzing injury in a dirt biking accident, is an inventor of adaptive sports equipment designed to allow people with physical disabilities to ski, hunt, camp and enjoy outdoor activities.
Tom will tell his personal story and show examples of the equipment he builds.
The Decatur ADA celebration takes place on Wednesday, July 22 from 4 to 7 PM at Tuscany Steak and Pasta House, 1099 West Wood Street. Hernon will speak at 4 and 6 PM and dinner will be available at 5:00. The cost of dinner is $9 per person.
