JOHN CURTIS - Daily Union Sports Editor

Okaw Valley Midde School volleyball took on Lovington on Thursday, and once again, the 7th grade T’Wolves rolled, 25-15, 25-23, and the 8th grade Pack was rolled, 19-25, 14-25.

In the 7th grade match, Okaw was in control the whole way even though Lovington contended in both games and Okaw only won by two in the second game.

“Despite our win, I think the girls were a bit disappointed that the two games flew by so quickly,” said Okaw 7th Ruth-Anne Yang. “The girls want to be challenged even if it means going into three games. I’m impressed by their passion and heart in the game. We’re hoping for this kind of enthusiasm throughout the entire season.”

Double-digit performer Amy Monroe was brutal to Lovington, serving up 15 points in the 2-game set. She also had a team-high two kills. Amy Orris followed with five points and also led the team in defense with three digs.
