SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
A Shelbyville family lost everything in a trailer fire early Sunday morning. Fortunately no one was hurt.
The Shelbyville Fire Department and the American Red Cross responded to the early morning fire Sunday at the Sunnyside Mobile Home Park on South 10th Street.
The trailer was owned by Jason Fox and occupied by the Jimmy Pease family.
The fire department received the call shortly after 1:30 a.m. and cleared the scene at 4:30 a.m.
“They had apparently been having some electrical problems,” said SFPD engineer Perk Wilson. “The fire appears electrical, but it is still under investigation.”
“We provided replacement clothing, food, personal hygiene kits, shoes, blankets, and teddy bears for the kids, and of course, compassion,” said Red Cross service manager Glenda Plunkett.
The family includes three children as well as two adults.
Donations of clothing and furniture for the family may be taken to 1000 W.S. 10th Street, lot 55.
The 3-year old boy wears size 2-3T and size 8 shoes. He loves trucks, semis, and tractors. The 10-year old boy wears 18 husky pants, medium to large men’s shirts, and size 6 1/2 -7 shoes. The 12-year-old girl wears size 10 slim jeans, 10-12 shirts, and size 3 girls shoes. Mother Diane wears size 22 womens pants, XL shirts, and size 8-9 shoes. Jimmy wears size 31-32/30 length pants, large mens shirts and size 11 wide shoes.
“We want to thank everybody for all the donations already given and for their generosity,” Pease said.
