Quast and Telgmann named Strasburg royalty

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Two Strasburg residents were named as royalty in the second annual Miss Strasburg pageant and first annual Junior Miss Strasburg pageant. The event was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg and in conjunction with the village’s Hog Roast and Gnome Fest.

Reigning queen Haley Mettendorf, the 17-year-old daughter of Kim and Dan Mettendorf of Stewardson, crowned Baylee Quast as Miss Strasburg. Quast, 16, is the daughter of Jodie and Doug Quast. Olivia Telgmann, 13, Strasburg, daughter of Kim and Don Telgmann, was crowned Junior Miss Strasburg.

First runner up to Quast was Ciara Jewell, 15, of Strasburg, the daughter of Kim and Tom Jewell. In the Junior Miss, first runner up was Marcail Clark, 14, Strasburg, daughter of Pam and Jack Clark and second runner up was Amber Caudill, 14, Stewardson, daughter of Jessica and Gary Caudill.

Miss Strasburg contestants sold raffle tickets and were also judged in categories of speech/introduction, interview, modeling and pop question. Junior Miss Strasburg contestants collected donations, gave an interview and did a pop question. Other participants were:
