SHELBY COUNTY —
Shelbyville co-superintendent Kevin Ross submitted his resignation to the Shelbyville School Board Thursday evening.
Ross has accepted the Superintendent of Schools position at Marshall, his home area. His resignation at Shelbyville is effective June 30, 2012.
“It is a good time for me to be back to family. I will miss it here,” Ross said.
Ross has served as teacher, coach, assistant principal, athletic director, high school principal at Shelbyville High School in addition to the co-superintendent position.
In accepting Ross’ resignation, the school board appointed co-superintendent Denise Bence to the full-time superintendent position, which leaves both the High School and Main Street School administrative positions open.
“This is a great timing for Kevin,” Bence said. “The job of superintendent just got bigger. I’ve learned a lot serving with him and I’m ready to do the job.”
