Buhrmester leads Lady Rams

Shelbyville girls track was by sprinter Keeley Buhrmester and a cadre of distance runners in their first foray into indoor action on February 27 at the Decatur Area Indoor Invitational.

Buhrmester placed 5th in the 55 meter dash preliminary (7.87), then upgraded her finish in the finals by placing 4th (8.04). Buhrmester also had a Top 10 finish in the quarter. She placed 6th with a 1:06.25. Those were the highest finishes on the day for the Lady Rams.

The distance runners also had some Top 10 finishes.

Morgan Powers cleared 4-6 in the high jump to take 6th place and also ran a 9th place finish in the 800 run (2:40.47). Brooke Cieplik was 13th in the 800 (3:02.22).

Milers Blair Johnston and Molly Yockey finished 7th (6:05.17) and 9th (6:07.98), respectively. Jenny Karraker was 13th (6:37:11). Powers, Johnston, Yockey, and Brooke Cieplik finished 7th in the 4x800 relay (11:33. 29). Megan Martin had an 11th place finish in the long jump

(24-10).

The Lady Rams will run next at the Charleston Indoor Meet this Saturday,

starting at 8:30 a.m.
