Lake Shelbyville - Crappie Masters along with the US Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville will host a Kid's Rodeo fishing tournament for children 12 years of age or under on Saturday, April 26 at the Bo Wood Recreation Area near the boat launching ramp.
The tournament is free and registration will be from 8 am - 9 am. Fishing for the tournament will be from 9 am - 11 am. The tournament will be limited to bank fishing only. Participants must provide their own fishing equipment, tackle and bait and must be accompanied by an adult. Those who do not know how to swim must wear a life jacket. All anglers will win a prize donated by Bass Pro Shops and Crappie Masters.
Get those good old rods and reels ready to go, bring the kids and watch them enjoy a free fun morning of fishing at Lake Shelbyville. If you would like further information, phone Park Ranger Ken Pierson at (217) 774-3313.
