Shelbyville track was hit and miss on Thursday, as the boys’ meet was canceled due to rain and the girls basically just got their feet wet at the Taylorville Tri-meet, which ended with a third place Shelby finish.
Erin Yockey was the leader for the Lady Rams at the Taylorville meet, winning both the 1600-meter and the 3200-meter runs. Yockey won the mile in a time of 6:19.2 and the 2-mile in 12:57.1. Shelbyville also had winners in three other events.
Brown won the 100 meter dash in 13.5, Mason won the long jump, with a leap of 14 feet, 4 inches, and Anna Oldham won the pole vault, clearing 7 feet.
The Ram boys meet with St. Elmo and Cowden-Herrick was set to go when the rain rolled in canceling the meet.
Shelbyville track will hold a co-ed meet on Tuesday, hosting Central A&M;, Meridian, Sullivan-Okaw Valley and St. Teresa. The Lady Rams will then host the Shelby Girls Open on Good Friday at 9 a.m., hosting Altamont, Athens, Camp Point Central, Central A&M;, Clinton, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Mt. Zion, Pana, Sangamon Valley, Stew-Stras/Windsor, Teutopolis and Warrensburg-Latham.
