Lake Shelbyville - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to announce that the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center will open for the season in conjunction with the 6th Annual Spores-N-More Event on Saturday, April 25.
The visitor center will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. A Tour of the Lake Shelbyville Dam is scheduled for 11 a.m. Everyone interested in going on the tour should meet at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center.
The Kaskia-Kaw Rivers Conservancy (KKRC) will be hosting their annual plant sale at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center on April 25 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Several plants including perennials will be for sale. The KKRC sales area within the visitor center will also be open. Several new items are available to be purchased so bring out the family and enjoy Lake Shelbyville and the several Spores-N-More events and activities that will be taking place in the surrounding communities of Sullivan, Shelbyville, Windsor, Bethany, and Findlay.
Starting Saturday, May 2, the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 4 p.m. until May 21. Then on May 22, the visitor center will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. until September 7.
Tours of the Dam will be conducted every Saturday and Sunday starting on May 23 until September 6. The tour will start at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and at 1 p.m. on Sundays. Everyone interested in going on one of these tours should meet at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center.
