Shuster, Hubbard Sentenced in Shelby Court

John Shuster, 21, of Moweaqua, appeared before Judge Michael Kiley Monday and pled guilty to two counts of residential burglary, Class 1 felonies.

By agreement and with the concurrence of the victims, the defendant was sentenced to five years in prison, ordered to pay court costs and $750 in restitution, according to Shelby County State’s Attorney Allan Lolie who prosecuted the case.

Shuster was arrested last week by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office after it was learned that he entered two family members’ residences in rural Shelby County.

He was represented by Shelby County Public Defender Bob Swiney.

Brandon Hubbard, 26, of Shelbyville, also appeared before Judge Kiley Monday. He pled guilty to driving while his license was revoked with a prior, a Class 4 felony.

He was sentenced by agreement to one year in prison.

Hubbard was arrested last November by the Shelbyville Police. He was also represented by Swiney.
