Shimkus' Staff In Shelbyville June 26

Congressman John Shimkus (R, Illinois-19) is sending a member of his staff to meet with constituents in Shelby and Effingham counties later this month. Shimkus calls this service his "Traveling Help Desk," where constituents can take advantage of all the services his office offers right in your hometown.

On Friday, June 26, a member of Shimkus' staff will be available to meet with local residents at the Shelbyville City Hall, 170 East Main Street, from 10:00 till 11:30 a.m.

"I try to hold office hours as often as I can myself. But in order to serve all the residents of the 19th Congressional District, my staff also hold office hours in order to make the services we offer more accessible," Shimkus explained. "Local residents can take advantage of this opportunity to state their position on legislation pending before Congress or seek assistance if they have a problem with a federal government agency."

Those who cannot attend in person can contact Shimkus' Springfield office by phone at 217-492-5090 or by mail at 3130 Chatham Road Suite C, Springfield, IL 62704. More information on many services is also available online at the Congressman's website: http://shimkus.house.gov/.

People requiring special accommodations should call 217-492-5090 at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled office hours.
