Mason Steve Gilbert guides the cement into the form next to the south steps at the Shelby County Courthouse Monday. The slab will support the Lincoln-Thornton statuary and wayside exhibits depicting Lincoln heritage in Shelby County.
According to Shelby County Lincoln Heritage, Inc. president Whit Hardy, the dedication ceremony for the statuary is tentatively set for August 9, the 153rd anniversary of the Lincoln-Thornton Debate.
