Stew-Stras Volleyball Sweeps Sacred Heart
The Stew-Stras Junior High volleyball program got their first sweep of the season on Thursday, with a twin win over Sacred Heart. Star 7th won 25-15, 25-23, then Star 8th followed up with the win.
Casey Wheat led the Stars at the line, serving up five aces, and was the chief net threat, swinging for four kills. Lakiesha Reeves and Kaitlin Sllfer were also key at the line serving four aces each. Ciara Jewell was the top defenseman with four digs.
Stew-Stras 7th served up 20 aces in the 2-game set and ten kills.

Kennedy Ferris and Baylee Quast led Star 8th at the line with five aces each. Haylee Mathis was the net assassin with seven kills and a block (8 net points). Mathis had the best all-around game with kills, a block, four digs, three aces, and six assists. Ferris and Lindsay Burton followed with four kills each. Ciera Settlemire led the defense with five digs. Quast and Mathis combined for 12 assists, six each.
