The Shelby County Farm Bureau Young Farmers Committee sponsored a “Farm-City Breakfast" to celebrate National Agriculture Week on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. at the Shelby County 4-H Center, Route 128 N., Shelbyville.
The goal of the breakfast is to bring awareness on the return of a farmer's commodities produced in order to eat one meal. The cost is $0.20, which is the amount a farmer receives for $1.00 of agricultural commodities produced.
The menu included scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and milk. The breakfast was catered by the Court House Inn, Shelbyville and served by the Shelby County Farm Bureau Young Farmers Committee.
