Local artist Dan Modzelewski will be the featured artist of the month at the Gallery 510 in Decatur during November.
Two of his pieces, “Woman in Repose” and “Ram, a Tribute to the Shelbyville Rams”, will be on display November 6-28
Modzelewski is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and describes himself as a “traditionalist,” someone who uses the teaching of the Masters to create new and exciting works of art. As a figurative artist, Modzelewski uses charcoal, conte crayon and collored pencil to capture solitary images of women and children in sepia tones.
Gallery 510 is located at 160 E. Main Street in Decatur. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Artist talks wil be at 5:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on Friday, November 6 with hors d’oeuvres, wine, and punch served compliments of Gallery 510 Board and members.
Modelewski and Shelbyville artist Carol Kessler are also displaying artwork in the lobby of the Shelby County Farm Bureau, North Route 128, Shelbyville. The artwork will be on display through the holiday season.
