Senator McCarter to Speak to Chamber of Commerce--Public Invited
State Senator Kyle McCarter (R-51st District) will speak to the Greater Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, November 12. This meeting has been scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and will be held at the Shelbyville City Hall building.
“We have moved this meeting to the Shelbyville City Council chambers so that members of the public may attend,” said Tad Mayhall president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Mayhall said the public is not only invited, but strongly encouraged to hear what McCarter has to say.
McCarter is a small business owner. He operates Custom Product Innovations and Custom Coating Innovations in Lebanon, IL. McCarter served six years on the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors including two years as president and four years as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee.
“I am looking forward to what Senator McCarter has to say because he understands the important role the Chamber plays in communities,” Mayhall said. “He also has had significant experience with the chamber and economic development.”
Senator McCarter was appointed to replace Senator Frank Watson when Watson stepped down due to health reasons.
McCarter lives in Lebanon with his wife Victoria and their two sons.
Mike Lawson Store Director for the Shelbyville County Market is the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and he said the chamber members are looking forward to McCarter’s visit.
“I know Kyle (McCarter) was a big part of the chamber in his area so we are looking forward to any insights he can give us to help businesses move forward in Shelbyville,” said Lawson.
