Foul Play Ruled Out in Shelbyville Man's Death
A Shelbyville man found dead Saturday morning. at the Lake Towers, 414 S. Morgan, prompted investigation by the Shelbyville Police, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police.
Steve L. Arterburn, 38, was found dead in a maintenance work area of the Lake Towers. He was pronounced dead by Shelby County Coroner Brian Green at 7:25 a.m.
Investigation is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.
“We do not believe it was a homicide,” said Master Sgt. Tad Williams, Zone 5 investigator for the Illinois State Police. “His injuries were consistent with where and how he was found.”
An autopsy will be performed at Springfield Memorial Hospital and an inquest will be held at a later date, according to Green.
