Stew-Stras fresh-soph fell into a 20-point hole in the first half, Thursday. They started to dig out of it, only to fall back in and lose by almost 30 to Newton, 79-52.
Jason Becker and Justin Fulk led the Comets with 12 points each, but it wasn' enough up against Davidson's game-high 27 points and Knepper's 20 points for Newton. Newton had three players in double figures and the Comets two, almost four, but again, not enough.
