Geraldine M. Renner, 84, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, died at 12:35 pm Friday, October 19, 2012 in Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare, Marshalltown, Iowa .
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Fund for the Granddaughters of Geraldine M. Renner. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL.
Geraldine was born on May 24, 1928 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of William and Elsie Foelsing Mueller, Jr. She worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville before becoming a homemaker. Geraldine was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville and VFW Auxiliary in Shelbyville. She enjoyed playing bingo and attending Red Hat Society functions at the nursing home. Geraldine loved watching her granddaughters participate in dance and piano recitals. She married Robert D. Renner on June 29, 1947 in Shelbyville. He died on December 21, 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Ernat and husband John of Marshalltown, Iowa; and granddaughters, Cailyn and Rachel Ernat both of Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brother, Eugene Mueller.
