Charles E. “Gene” Boehme, 69, of rural Tower Hill, IL (Dollville, IL), went to be with his beloved wife Polly at 7:15 p.m. Friday Jan. 27, 2012.  

Gene was born Feb. 19, 1942 at Decatur, IL the son of Robert Harley and Helen Louise Boehme Tuller.

He married Polly Ruth Smith, the love of his life, on Jan. 22, 1973 in Decatur, IL and she passed away Dec. 6, 1990.

Gene was a welder and millwright, and was an  avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are a brother James (Nedra) Tuller of Plaucheville, LA; nieces and nephews: Daniel (Marie) Boehme of Decatur, IL, Anna Reynolds of Decatur, IL, Denise Overlin of Mt. Zion, IL and Bobbie Shafer of Mt. Zion, IL and Debbie, Jamie, Teri, and Alex Tuller all of New Orleans, LA; brothers-in-law Richard (Adriana) Smith of Tucson, AZ and Robert (Victoria) Smith of Coalmont, TN; sister-in-law Margaret Hudgins of Tucson, AZ; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Polly, his parents, a son Anthony Joseph Smith and a brother Robert (Bob) Boehme.

Memorial contributions in Gene Boehme's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday Feb. 3, 2012 in Point Pleasant Cemetery at Long Creek, IL.  Arrangements are entrusted to Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL. 302 West Main Street, Shelbyville, IL 62565, Ph# 217-774-2195.
