Arthur Robert Kronshagen, 72, of Pana, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Arthur was born on October 12, 1939 in Pana. He was the only son of Arthur and Elizabeth (Buttgereit) Kronshagen. He married Helen Berner in 1958. She passed away on July 17, 2007.
Survivors include one son, Arthur Robert Kronshagen III of Pana, IL; two grandsons: Jeremy Langley & Clay Langley both of Tower Hill, IL; sisters: Elizabeth Wiss & Marian Weber of Pana, IL, Norma Creamer of Oreana, IL, Doris Pinkston of Pana, IL, Margaret (Robert) Sperry of Hoffman Estates, IL, Thelma Smart of Decatur, IL, Henrietta (Carl) Marley of Oconee, IL, and Carol (Butch) Walden of Shelbyville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and one daughter: Tina Langley on September 23, 2001.
Arthur had worked most of his life in construction and was a member of the Laborers' Local #159 Union. He truly enjoyed life and loved nature. Arthur was a very compassionate and caring person and kept in close contact with his immediate family, as well as, his eight surviving sisters.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
No services are planned. Cremation rites will be accorded. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family.
