Tower Hill



Joe Marion Renoe Sr., 77, of Tower Hill died at 1:00 p.m. Sunday (September 30, 2012) in the Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Derrick Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Tower Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Tower Hill/ Pana schools sports department.

He was born February 7, 1935 in Shelbyville the son of William Marion and Alouise Roberta (Toothman) Renoe. He married Barby Lynne Hinton, August 19, 1995 in Tower Hill.

He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and taught school in Mt. Auburn and Tower Hill for forty years. He coached baseball, basketball and track. He served in the US Army, attended the Tower Hill Christian Church and was president of the Tower Hill Cemetery Board. Joe loved sports especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

Surviving are his wife Barby, children, Joe Marion Renoe, Jr. of Cowden, Tina Renoe of Charleston and Chuck Renoe and friend Tammi Hewitt of Paris; grandchildren, Candace Renoe, Joseph Renoe, Misty Hopkins, Nicole Davidson and Joe Bly; great-granddaughter, Izabella Beliz; brother, Bud Renoe of Branson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles.
