Sullivan

Bill Standerfer, 81, of Sullivan, passed at 1:35 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 3, 2009) in Mason Point, Sullivan.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Reed Funeral Home with the Pastor Tyson Graves officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bethany, with military rite conducted by the Sullivan American Legion Post # 68. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the Allenville Christian Church or the donor’s choice. Condolences can be offered to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.

Bill was born January 22, 1928 in Sullivan, the son of Chesley Franklin and Mary Quicksol Standerfer. Bill was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, had been the manager at the Chipps Elevator for the Livergood Grain Company, a member of the Allenville Christian Church and the Midwest Tool Collectors Association. Bill married Joyce Woolridge on March 20, 1949 in Dunn, IL and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2009.

Surviving are his children; Bill ‘Gene’ Standerfer (Virginia) of Mattoon, Jim Standerfer (Julie) and John Standerfer (Jenna), all of Sullivan, Jeff Standerfer (Penny) of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Heather Warf (Darin) and Hilary Smith (Mark), all of Mattoon, Zak Standerfer (Amanda) of Sullivan, Jim Standerfer II of Charleston, Lindsay Shriver (Mark) of Sullivan, Doug Standerfer (Kelsie) of Wheaton, Luke Standerfer (Tara) of Sullivan, Heath Standerfer (Emily) of Oconee, Ashley Klepzic (Mike) of Altamont, Nathan Standerfer of Shelbyville and Jake Pope (Karen) of Charleston; great grandchildren, Gabby, Tyler, Carmen, Taylor, Chloe, Alex, Wes, J.J., Callie, Jonas, Olivia, Alyssa, Ava, Jackson, Josie, Carter, Adyson and Will; brothers, Tom Standerfer (Norma Jean) of Bethany and Jack Standerfer (Geraldine) 0f Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by her parents, wife, daughter, Sue Pope, an infant son, David and brother, Ray.
