Gladys Winona Mize, 89, of Shelbyville passed away at 4:36 p.m. Sunday (February 3, 2013) at the Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church or First Christian Church in Shelbyville.
She was born August 15, 1923 in Fayette County the daughter of Fred and Edith (Watson) Eagleton. She married Herman Mize in June of 1940 and he preceded in death July of 2003.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and was retired caregiver from Community Services. She was a master quilter, baker, seamstress and devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving are children, Stanley A. Mize (Judy) of Sevierville, TN, Richard Mize (Linda) of Dunnellon, FL, Gary Mize (Lila) of Crossville, TN, Carolyn Ruff (Glenn), Cheryl Woods (Dennis) and Michael R Mize all of Shelbyville; sisters, Ruth Fritts of Decatur and Lois Traughber of Fruitland, ID; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Paul and Glenn and sisters, Opal, Mae, Violet and Ada.
