Greenup

Helen A. Brown, 89, of Greenup, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009, at Cumberland Rehab & Health Care in Greenup.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10, at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with Pastor Ed davis officiating. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenup United Methodist Church.

Helen was born on July 21, 1920, on Toledo, IL, the daughter of Horace and Myrtle (Sperry) Hubbart. She married William Dallas Brown on November 23, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1983. She was a homemaker and loving mother.

She was a member of the Greenup United Methodist Church; Greenup United Methodist Church ladies auxiliary, past board Trustee for the Village of Greenup, and a member of the Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center auxiliary.

She is survived by two loving daughters: Brenda (Steve) Shoaff of Shelbyville and Elna (Ralph) Ochs of Greenup; sister Ellen List of Aiken, SC; four grandchildren: Clint Ochs of Lafayette, IN, Andrea (Clint) Harris of Canton, Matthew (Stephanie) Shoaff of Shelbyville, Adam Shoaff andfiancee Cara Honselman of Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters: Iverna Heminghouse Johnson, Irma Catey, and Ina Green.
