Georgia Hazel Boyer, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Moweaqua passed away December 7, 2009 in Phoenix.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with visitation from Noon until service time.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Moweaqua.

Mrs. Boyer was born March 18, 1918 in McLeansboro, Illinois, the daughter of William A. and Nora (Tolley) Emerson. She spent most of her life living in Shelbyville and Moweaqua. Her last few years were spent living with her son and his wife, Ronald and Josie Houser in Phoenix, Arizona.

Georgia worked a short time as an Inspector at a munitions plant during World War II, and for many years as a beautician. She was best known for her excellent cooking.

She is survived by her son Ronald Houser, granddaughter Ronda Stika, her great-grandson Ryan Voyles, and her great-great granddaughter Tatiana DesMarias.

She is preceded in death by her husbands Donald Houser, Mason Sherwood and Russell Boyer; her mother and father; sisters Lila Newkirk, Erma Parker, Alta Hook and brother Virgil Emerson.

Georgia was a great inspiration to all who knew her. She always spoke her mind, and brought fun and laughter to her family and friends. She has touched many hearts, and our family will carry all the fond memories with us.
