Dollie Doris Warren, 96, of Sullivan, passed away 5:30 a.m. Saturday (December 12, 2009) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in the Findlay Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Sullivan Church of God. Condolences can be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.

Dollie was born on August 11, 1913 in Shelby County, one of fourteen children born to Richard Matthew and Mable May Hidden Johnson. She was a member of the Todd’s Point Community Sewing Club, and the Sullivan Church of God. She married Virgil Winings in Moultrie County in 1931, and he preceded her in death in July, 1964. She then married Kermit Warren in August, 1968 and he preceded her in death in 1978.

"Grandma" was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to sew, garden and cook big family dinners. Her greatest joy was when everyone was together and dining on her delicious noodles. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours canning vegetables and picking berries so that we always had enjoyable food on the table.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Margaret Bricker of Shelbyville; three sons, LeRoy Winings of Bethany, Robert (DeeAnn) Winings of Bethany and Richard Winings of Findlay; stepchildren, Terry (Sharon) Warren of Sullivan and Dianne Warren Struffe of Mattoon; fourteen grandchildren, Danny (Mandy) Winings of Satellite Beach FL, Cindy Winings Lucas of Shelbyville, Theresa (Rick) Williams of Shelbyville, Sherry (Chris) Shuff of Findlay, Doris (Ron) Eversole of Shelbyville, Bernice (Tim) Spellman of Findlay, Gayle (Angie) Bricker of Findlay, Lyle (Michelle) Bricker of Findlay, Kara (Rob) Pfeiffer of Shelbyville, Dana (Kent) Newkirk of Durango, CO, Jason Winings of Bethany, RoyLee Winings of Mt. Zion; two step grandchildren, Derrick Warren of Sullivan and Bart Warren of Mattoon. She also leaves behind many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and all 13 of her brothers and sisters, Ora Irene, Esther Margaret, Lottie Maureen, Theodore Roosevelt, Bertha, Dortha "Dort", Otto, Walter, Oran, Clara, Leroy Frank, Gifford and Donald.

She will be sadly missed by everyone she touched but has left many special memories behind for us to savor.
