Ann R. Dove (nee Reuter) died peacefully in the presence of her family on Saturday, March 9, 2013, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Visitation will be held at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Illinois, on Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm with funeral services officiated by the Pastor John Schmeling immediately following. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation Red Event promoting Women’s Heart Health or The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Shelby County.

Ann was born July 28, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, but spent her formative years in Springfield, Ohio. Following graduation from Springfield High School she matriculated to Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959. At Ohio Wesleyan, Ann met her husband, Michael T. Dove, and they were married on February 7, 1959.

Ann also attended Case Western Reserve School of Nursing and gave much of her time as a volunteer with the Shelby Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player and golfer and member of the Shelbyville Ladies Golf Association. She had many friends who loved her dearly.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Michael; her daughter, Gwyn (Jesse) Helton of Shelbyville; and sons, Peter (Kimberly Agney) Dove of Shelbyville, and Douglas (Amy McFarland) Dove of St. Louis, Missouri. She was the loving “Nini” to grandchildren, Jonathan, Cheryl, Zachary, Aurora, Bailee, McCaig, Emily, Hannah, and Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Cailynn, Jesse, Kendi and Weston. She was the wonderful sister-in-law of David (Janet) Dove, Clark (Jamie) Dove, Susan (Ron) Mark and Marianne Reuter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Carl H. and Grace McCaig Reuter; her brother, Dr. Stewart R. Reuter; brother-in-law, Franklin Dove; and sister-in-law, Meredith Dove.
