SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Jean Ann Ashbaugh

Jean Ann Ashbaugh, 57, of Effingham passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday (March 2, 2013) at her residence.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 16, 2013 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson with Pastor Richard Bremer officiating. Following the service there will be a time for celebrating Jean Ann’s life in the church basement. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Arrangements are by Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson.

She was born September 16, 1955 in Effingham the daughter of Glen and Lela (Noffke) Giesler. She married David Ashbaugh October 6, 1984 in the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide of the church, Stewardson Lions Club, formerly serving as treasurer and coached cheerleading at the church school. She operated the State Farm Insurance Agency in Stewardson for 23 years.  Jean Ann enjoyed cross-stitching, and loved life and the people she knew.

Surviving are her husband, David; daughter, Chelsea Allen and husband Matt and their children of Effingham; mother, Lela Giesler of Stewardson; sister, Janet Arthur and husband, Jim of Stewardson; brothers, Bill Giesler and wife, Sue of St. Charles, MO and John Geisler and wife, Mardell of Mason City; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Irene Ashbaugh of Effingham; 16 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, James Giesler.

The family gives a special thanks to her caregivers, Alisha Cristenberry, Christine Carrington, Kathy Brown and Kirsten Chitwood for all their care and support of Jean Ann.
