Genevieve D. Burrus Sarver Welsh passed from this earth at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday (November 6, 2012) at the Shelby Manor Nursing Home, Shelbyville, Illinois.  She was born on December 27, 1928, to Lane J. and Kathryn (Simmons) Burrus of rural Herrick, Illinois.

She married Kenneth Ray Sarver in December of 1947 and one child, Evelyn Sue Sarver Hamilton, was born to this union.  Ray passed away August 31, 1998. She later married James W. (Tim) Welsh of Shelbyville, Illinois, in December of 2004.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, James, of Shelbyville, daughter, Evelyn, son-in-law, Mark M. Hamilton, two grandsons, and two great grandchildren.  They are Joshua Mark Hamilton, his wife, Nancy, and their children, Krista Elizabeth and Cole McCanless Hamilton; and Jesse Ray Hamilton his wife, Beth, all of the Mobile, Alabama area.  Also surviving are her sister, Marcella Sarver, Herrick, Illinois, and sister-in-law, Lillian Burrus, Canon City, Colorado, and a host of loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As well as her first husband, Ray, and her parents, Genevieve was predeceased by her sister, Nelsine and her husband, Herbert Sarver and brothers, Nelson W. Burrus, and S. Monroe Burrus.  Also, brothers-in-law, Sam Sarver and Dugal Sarver and wife, Lucy; and sisters-in-law, Erma and husband, Loyd (Coon) Durbin, Carrie and husband, Edgar (Bob) Petty, and Irene and husband, Charley Simmons.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City with her great nephew, Gary Simmons and Rev. Kevin Ray officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, East of Herrick.  Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
