Jessie Florine Watton, 93, of Shelbyville, died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Don Jefferies officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - noon on Monday.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.  Memorials may  be given to the Activity Department at Shelbyville Manor.

Jessie was born on October 18, 1919 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Mary Koonce Ellis.  She was a graduate of Greenville High School.  Jessie began working as a checker for Gene and Barney's Grocery Store in Shelbyville.  She later worked at Barney's Market and Quality Market both in Shelbyville.  She was an avid reader and a devoted follower of Days of Our Lives.  Jessie was a past president of the Shelbyville AARP Chapter #4084.  She married Glenn Watton on June 16, 1951 in Greenville, IL.  He died on November 21, 1990.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Watton, James Watton (Lisa) and Donald Watton (Charlotte) all of Shelbyville; daughters, Jane Dintelmann of Creve Coeur, MO, Barb Carter (Ralph) of Smithsboro, IL, Bev Logue (Terry) of Shelbyville and Debbie Matlock (Mike) of Assumption; grandchildren, Dayla Austin, Scott Dintelmann, Angela Pemberton, Steve Schlesinger, Jamie Schlesinger, Theresa Aguilar, Jessica Watton, Paige Watton, Abbie Watton, Samantha Baker, Chad Watton, Michelle Matlock and David Matlock; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; and six brothers and sisters.
