Cowden



Richard C. White 85 of Beecher City, IL passed away at 8:30 AM Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013 in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.  

Richard was born April 8, 1927 in Illinois the son of James and Laura Baldwin White.

Richard worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville for 54 years. Formerly, he was Road Commissioner for Dry Point Twp., Shelby County and farmed.

He married Karen White on Sept. 14, 1973 and she survives.  Also surviving are children  Joshua  (Crissy) ) White of Springfield, IL, Faron ( Vicki) Blackwell of Shelbyville, Carla Thomas of Beecher City, IL and Maxie Evans of Olney, IL; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister Rosie Enlow of Brownstown, IL; many nieces and  nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters and  one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden, IL.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery near Beecher City, IL.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.   The family requests casual attire.  On line condolences may be sent to the Family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
