Mary Cecilia Helton

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Mary Cecilia Helton

Shelbyville

Mary Cecila Helton, 72, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:05 PM Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 in her home. 

Mary was born Dec. 15, 1940 in Shelby County, IL the daughter of O. L. “Bud”  and Emma Hendy Eversole.

She married Lane Helton on April 28, 1962 in Shelbyville.

Mary attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville.

She was a loving homemaker for her family and, formerly, was employed at Central Illinois Public Service Company and Oliver Tractor Company both in Shelbyville.

She helped friends and neighbors by volunteering for Meals on Wheels and helping the young students of    Shelbyville Main Street School with the Pen Pal Program.  She, also, was an avid bingo enthusiast.

Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she was their greatest fan.  She rarely missed one of their sporting events. 

Surviving are her husband Lane; children: Beth Ann (Rick) Duckett and Patrick (Tracie) Helton both of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Katelyn, Lucas and Sydnie and brother, Joe (Pat) Eversole of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Eversole; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Cleta Hill.

Special thanks must be given to Staci and Tony Fox for their constant loving care and dedication. Also, we must express our gratitude to Shelby Memorial Hospital Home Health Care, especially, Brandi Price; Dr. Ben Esparaz, Dr. Mary Anne DePaz, Dr. David Oligschlaeger and Gary Hayden PA-C for their kind professional attention given to Mary during her long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday Feb. 12, 2013 in Lockart-Green Funeral home in Shelbyville.  Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home. Private interment will be at a later time.  Memorials may be made to a Fund for the Shelbyville High School Wrestling Team or the Shelbyville Athletic Boosters.  On line condolences may be sent to the Family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
