Scott Douglas Young, 49, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 in Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Murfreesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Gary Young officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to the National Association of Blind Merchants, National Federation for the Blind or Feed America.

Scott was born on February 3, 1963, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Fred and Shirley Keenan Young.  He attended K thru 11th grades in Shelbyville, IL and graduated from White County High School in Sparta, TN.   Scott is also a graduate of Volunteer State Community College.  He owned and operated Young's Vending Business in Murfreesboro, TN.  Scott was a member of the National Federation for the Blind, National Association of Blind Merchants, Tennessee Association of Blind Merchants, Feed America and World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Bunch of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Bill Reitzel and wife Marilyn of Morton, IL; sisters, Sheila Foor and husband Steve of Hockessin, DE, Cynthia Franz of Maryville, IL, Debbie Shasteen and husband Jerry of Shelbyville, IL and Kena Leszcynski and husband Jason of Dallas, TX; step-brother, Bradley Bunch and wife Kim of Ramsey, IL; and step-sisters, Margaret Ridgley and husband Steve of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda McKittrick of Tampa, FL, Belinda Baker of Shelbyville, IL and Holly Allen and husband Kurt of Plant City, FL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Young; step-father, Wayne Bunch; and step-brother, Brent Bunch.
