Shelby County D.A.R.E. officer Deb Harrison shows how to turn on the sheriff’s car siren during the Herrick Library reading program Thursday morning.
“The library’s program Read to Win has challenged children to expand their reading time during the summer,” said librarian Becky Wilson. “This was our final special program. The first week we had a coloring contest. The second week Mary Beth Massey from the Extension Office showed us how to make pudding in a bag. Last week we made crafts.”
Harrison gave the children a chance to explore the sheriff’s car in addition to talking about her job. “This gave me the chance to give the children information about what police officers do,” said Harrison
