Thirteen teams working throughout the past year brought all their efforts together for the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Shelby County Friday evening in Forest Park.
Shelby County will be “Making Waves For a Cure” as the American Cancer Society Relay For Life event takes to Forest Park Friday night, August 3.
The Relay For Life of Shelby County will be held August 3, but it's not too late to register a team for the event.
The Relay for Life of Shelby County will be “Making Waves for a Cure” this year in an effort to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The annual Kick-Off event will be held Monday, March 12, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. Team captains, team members, and anyone wanting to know more about Relay is invited to attend.
The Shelby County Relay For Life came closer to its goal for 2011 as the year closed out on August 31.

Friday night’s Relay For Life event saw cancer survivors, guest speakers, luminaria, entertaining campsites, basket auctions, Miss Relay contest, and lots of food.
Shelby Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic and Cardiac Rehab manager Penny Jiter soothed the squealing baby pig before planting a kiss on his face.
With 19 teams registered and over $8,000 raised, the Relay for Life of Shelby County is off to a big start for the 2011event.
