Music is in the air! The Shelbyville High School Ram Band is hosting their 3rd annual home competition Saturday October 22. The competition consists of two parts; the parade and the field show. The parade will begin at 3 pm in Forest park and finish at the high school. The field show is the second part and it begins at 7 pm. The field show features marching bands on the football field performing precise maneuvers and fun music meant to entertain and wow the audience. Shelbyville starts first in the parade and will appear last in the field show in order to assist the other bands. The field show will be held at the Shelbyville High School football field. Cost for admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students or children. It is a great way to spend your day for a low cost.

Including16 bands in the competition from the area including: Sullivan High School, Mattoon High School, Okaw Valley High School, Pana High School, Roberson High School, Lincoln High School, Oblong High School, and Monticello. There will be concessions available at the concision stand. Shelbyville students have been working extremely hard getting this competition ready. .We would enjoy having more people this year to support the hard work these bands have done preparing for the band competition. All the money will be put back into the Shelbyville Ram Band. This is the third year the Shelbyville band students have put this on, it keeps getting bigger and better each year. I hope to see you there.
