SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Ram football supporters will be playing for pledges at Deer Trail Golf
Course on July 27-28. The Shelbyville Ram Golf-A-Thon 2-Man Ultimate Scramble.
Those who want to get in on the free golf need to get signed up soon.
Those who sign up first to get first pick on their day to play. They are
only accepting 72 players total. They’ll allow 36 golfers on Saturday and 36 golfers on Sunday.
Players get to play 54 holes (6 9 hole rounds) for free if they’ve got
pledges in their pockets. Players will also get 4 free drink tickets,
caddies 6 golf balls and sandwiches during play. Golf cart is included.
Both partners in the 2-man scramble need to have pledges that will equal $5 to $7 per hole. A player who has $7 per hole will raise $378 over the 54 hole event. If both partners have $7 pledges they can raise $756.
Players are asked not to get pledges of more than $1 per hole. Instead, they are asked to get $.10, $.25, $.50 per hole. Pledges do not need to be collected by scramble players. Pledges will be collected by mail.
The proceeds from the Shelbyville Rams Golf-A-Thon 2-Man Ultimate Scramble will go to Shelbyville High School Athletics & Facilities.

The Shelbyville HS Sectional Softball game @ Teutopolis scheduled for Wed 5/22 has been moved to Thurs. 5/23 @ 4:00 PM due to wet conditions at Teutopolis.

Solid Shelby State Prelims
High schools from over the state of Illinois made their way down for the first day of the girls state track meet at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Defending class 1A champion Central A&M sent 12 total athletes to the meet this season, and started this years’ girls track meet off well by winning 6 events individually and 1 team race.
