CHBC basketball posted their 20th win of the season on Monday by detonating of the Brownstown Bombers, 65-25.
After taking on 4A, 3A, and 2A teams at Highland the Hornets returned to the comfort of the NTC to nullify Neoga. Then the Hornets came back on Saturday against non-conference, #15 ranked Tuscola to win by three. Once again, in the comfort of the NTC on Monday, the Hornets rolled.
CHBC energizer bunny Emily Wheeler pestered the bombers all over the court and reaped a game-high 18 points performance, her career-high. She scored six times from the floor, including a trey and was 5-of-6 at the line. She ripped off five steals and dished out five assists, both team-highs.
The Hornets had four, almost five, players in double figures. 1000-point scorer Faith Wendte had 14 points, with a treey and 3-of-3 at the line with five boards. Shootist Bailey Doty had 12 points, including a trey and 3-of-4 at the line. She dished out four assists and had three steals. Micah Jones had another double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. She also dished out a team-high five assists. Courtny Myers had nine points. She added three more steals and two steals.
The Hornets snatched 27 rebounds, and had a assist to turnover ratio of almost 2 to 1 in favor of assists. They had 21 assists towards their 23 baskets (91%) and only 14 turnovers. They also picked Brownstown 12 times.
