CHBC played down to their opponents level on Beecher City Senior Night on Monday, a little out of sync. No matter, In the end the Hornets won by 26 points, 51-25.
CHBC was up by just one after the 1st and just four by the half, 19-15. After the break, the Hornets finally got some separation with a 13-5 run for a 12-point lead, 32-20. Then the Hornets swarmed and the bottom fell out for Brownstown. CHBC ran away on a 19-5 final blitz doubling their lead in the last 8:00.
Micah Jones led CHBC with 23 points, almost as much as the Bombers as a whole. Jensyn Morrison stepped up to post her second game in a row tih double figures, scoring 12 points. If Morrison can continue scoring near to at double figures it could give the Hornets four consistent scorers for the post season. Ava Paruleski sank a pair of 3-pointers and finished with eight points.
CHBC was to play host to Sandoval on Tuesday for Cowden Senior Night. CHBC plays the South Central Regional next Tuesday at 6 p.m. against the winner of South Central/Ramsey.
