Windsor Loses Gut-Wrencher To Bucs
Windsor started the season serving notice to area teams, but has cooled considerably since then. They were looking for a solid win on Friday against Cumberland, but just couldn't finish it off, losing 56-55.
With big man Zach Weber still out, the Windsor chemistry has not been the same. Kyle Floyd is still leading the offense. He had 16 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the floor and making 2-of-4 free throws. Ryne Floyd is still the second scorer. He had 12 points, dialing in twice from the arc and making 2-of-3 free throws.
However, they didn't get a lot from the post. Torey Leasher and Sid Edwards combined for just nine points, and three of those were Edwards stepping out for a trey. Brandon Wolfe scored once and then made two foul shots. Andy Cole stepped up at the perimeter and scored eight points, including a pair of treys.
The Pirates had more balanced scoring being led by Silas Gabel with 12 points and Reed Draper with 11. They only got one trey, being outshot at the arc 5 to 1, giving Windsor a 49-45 advantage from the floor. But, the Bucs outshot Windsor at the free throw line, 11 to 6 for a 5-point edge and a 1-point win.
Windsor travels to Okaw Valley, tonight, Saturday, for a non-conference rural rivalry, then hosts Beecher City for Senior Night on Tuesday.
