Dieterich Maroons Bombers

Dieterich built a double-digit lead in the first half, then rolled late to beat Brownstown on Tuesday, 62-47.

The Dieterich defense marooned the Bomber's offense, holding them under 50 points and to just two players in double figures. Brownstown has had games of 80 points this season, but they managed a little more than half that on Tuesday.

Dieterich defense forced 21 Brownstown turnovers, fueled by nine steals. On the other hand, the Maroon offense recorded 21 assists for 26 field goals and only turned the ball over 11 times. Brownstown 's 47 % shooting percentage, 8-of-15 from the line and three 3-pointers made the game closer than its 15-point margin would suggest.

Dieterich gained control of the game early with a 17-10 run and never relinquished it. Dieterich upped their lead in the second frame to post a doube-digit lead at the break, 30-19.

After the regroup in the locker room, the Bombers started to get something going, trimming the lead in the third period to just six points heading into the fateful fourth. But, the Maroons were just sand-baggin' in the third. In the fourth, they emptied their clip on the Bombers with a 22-13 run to win going away.

Jared Winters led Brownstown with 13 points (1 trey) and had a team-high six rebounds, while Michael Kramer followed with 12 points (2 treys). Dillon Holoway was the third scorer with eight points.

Dieterich had three players in double figures and three more players with eight. Blake Kuhl led with 14 points, including 2 treys and 4-of-4 at the line, with five assists. Sam Thoele and Tony Probst had 12 points each. Thoele had two 3-pointers and Probst led the team with six rebounds. Taran Bohnhoff, Cody Hinterscher, and Jeremy Ohnesorge had eight points each.
