SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Windsor basketball’s young team has been playing better and has notched a couple of wins this season. But on Friday, Arthur-Lovington was too much too early and put down the Devils, 69-43.
Arthur opened with a20-5 run, including 13 of the first 15 points scored.
Windsor smacked back in the 2nd with a 20-14 run, led by freshman Tristan Warner, the Devils new scoring demon. Warner had a game-high 21 with 11 of them coming in the 2nd period run. Windsor was still down by nine at the break, 34-25.
The 2nd half Arthur was in control and Windsor couldn’t come back. Arthur had a 19-7 run in the 3rd to lead by 21 heading into the 4th, 53-32.
Arthur extended their final margin of victory by five more points down the stretch to win by 26.
Hayden Cole joined Warner as the only other Devil in double figures with 12 points. Only four Devils scored. Warner canned a quartet of treys with Alex Allen and Austin Haddock hitting solo treys. Arthur dialed up one less 3-pointer, but they it wasn’t a factor. Windsor also made five more free throws, but that wasn’t a factor either.
Arthur more than doubled the Devil out-put from the field 28 to 12. Arthur had four players in double figures. Schuring scored 15 with a trey hat trick. Plank scored 13with one triple. Maxwell scored a dozen and West 10.
Windsor now heads to the Tri-County Holiday Tourney.
