SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Ramsey took it to South Central in the 1st round of the South Central Regional, but then CHBC took it to Ramsey in the semifinal, 79-17.
Instead of holding the Hornets back like she did in some lopsided wins this season, Coach Carolyn Wendte let the Hornets blow all the carbon out of their pipes as they geared up for a 4-barrel run through the playoffs.
The Hornets swarmed with a 23-4 run to start the game. They followed with a 25-7 run in the 2nd to go up by 37 at the half, 48-11.
The 2nd half wasn't as daunting, but the Hornets still had a 17-0 run after the break and a final 14-6 run in the 4th.
Leading scorer Micah Jones had a game-high 26 points with 11 boards for another double-double. Three other Hornets were also in double figures.
Ava Paruleski scored 13 with a trio of treys. Autumn Riley scored 11, including 5-of-6 at the line. Kirby Herrmann had a season-high 11, including 3-of-4 at the line.
CHBC (22-5, 6-0 NTC) will face NTC opponent Altamont in the Farina regional final.
