The Shelbyville Girls Junior Softball League is in mid-tourney this week out at Forest Park and the top two seeds look to be on a collision course in the final come Thursday.
Toby Koonce Insurance was the regular season champions and earned the top seed. Koonce had a bye in the first round then beat Holland & Fox Masonry on Monday in the semifinal. Shelby Electric entered the tourney as the 2-seed, but had to face a surprising Schultz Heating & Air team in their semi last night. Schultz (6-seed) upset VFW (3-seed) on Monday night. SEC beat C.C.GPS Friday.
Holland & Fox will face the SEC/Schultz loser for third place tonight, Wednesday, at 7 p.m., after One Stop Outfitters (4-seed) plays the winner of C.C. GPS (7-seed) and VFW at 5 p.m. for fifth place.
The championship game between Koonce and the SEC/Schultz winner on Thursday starts at 5 p.m.
Okaw Traveling League girls softball starts their tourney at Forest Park on Friday. One of the Shelbyville teams ran the table in the regular season and is looking to complete the tourney as the champion.
