SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Stew-Stras volleyball had a leg up going into the NTC tournament, but a couple of teams they had owned, eked out 3-game, overtime wins to set the Comets back in the pack.
The Comets started strong on Thursday, beating Beecher City, 25-7, 25-14, and Altamont, 25-22, 25-21.

“It was a tough loss,” said Comet coach Ronda Schlechte. “We came out strongt in game 1. Game 2 we struggled with passing. Game was an intense game going back and forth. Too many errors to get us the win. The girls fought hard to stay with them.”
