A Day Later BC Loses In Extra Innings

A day after Beecher City beat Casey in 8 innings, 5-4, BC lost to Dieterich in 8 innings, 6-5.

BC got on the board first, again, they just couldn't hold the lead. They scored four in the 1st and Dieterich scored two. The score stayed unchanged for three innings, then BC got one of their runs back in the top of the 5th to lead by three, 5-2. But Dieterich answered again, closing to within one, 5-4.

BC only had to hold the Maroons scoreless in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to notch their second win in as many games, but Dieterich tied it up. They got to the BC starter, Luke Levitt, after he went six innings and had given up four runs while striking out eight. They knotted it, 5-5, and neither could score again in regulation.

With the score tied in the bottom of the eigth, Dieterich scored on the BC reliever, Drew Levitt, to get the win.

The day before in almost a mirror image of this game, BC got a lead on the road and got caught. Drew Levitt's twin brother Dirk Levitt came on in relief to get the 1-run win in the 8th inning. This time Drew Levitt had the flip-side of the coin, coming on in relief to lose by one run in the 8th.

Although Drew got the loss, he had three hits in the game to lead BC, two singles and a double and one RBI. Cole Ohnesorge had a pair of hits, a single and a double.
